The Great South Florida Food Forest Project – 12 Years In!
While in Ft . Lauderdale , I filmed a hitch of the Great South Florida Food Forest Project , which I build with my Mom and Dad after moving back to North Florida in 2010 .
This little solid food forest , which I tend on my trips to visit crime syndicate , was a great inspiration and laboratory for the book I would eventually write .
You Can Plant a Florida Food Forest
The first version ofCreate Your Own Florida Food Forestwas a modest booklet that inspired many food forest labor , includingthe beautiful food forest now settle at Snyder Park in Ft . Lauderdale .
That projection was due to the forbearance and diplomacy of one woman – Joan Starr – who reliably squeeze on in her vision until the food forest became a realness . When I first met her , she said “ I work up this nutrient forest because you inspired me . ”
I ’ll differentiate you what – Joan prompt me ! I ’m just a backyard brake shoe - string gardener with large ideas and dream , and it always amazes me to see multitude assail and inhibit great things . I ’ve move many times and planted many fruit Tree I never fix to harvest , so seeing a longsighted - terminal figure task in a town that I do it and erotic love gives me warm feelings . It ’s a material legacy , and I am blessed to have contributed in a small part to something bigger that will be relish by many families in old age to add up .
