An Illinois gardener combines bright plants and creative containers in a small yard

Tamara Kljaic sent in today ’s photos from her mother ’s garden in Rockford , Illinois . Her female parent is a womb-to-tomb buff of flowers , and these are some of her best-loved picture from her garden .

There is no item in taking yourself or your garden too in earnest ! Clearly Tamara ’s mother likes to have a piddling merriment in the garden , and these charmingly painted bbl planter topped with exuberant flowered wigging are stark joy !

But there is also room for understatement as well . Here the delicate , fernlike foliage and tiny promising flushed peak of cardinal climber ( Ipomoea × sloteri , yearly ) form a finespun wreath around a piece of garden art hanging on the rampart .

bluff colour combinations are throughout this garden . Here a brainy yellow - striped canna ( probablyCanna‘Tropicanna Gold ’ , Zones 9–11 or as an annual ) makes fireworks with an even more bright colored flame nettle ( Plectranthus scutellarioides , Zone 11 or as an one-year ) .

A wider view of the garden show the intense color , especially bold red and orange , from the whole row of containers . Container plantings of coloured annual like this are a large way to get the most out of special garden place . No want for acres and acres of land to have a garden that makes you well-chosen !

Got an quondam tire swing the shaver do n’t wreak on any longer ? Why not paint it bright blue and put flowers in it ? No , it might not be to everyone ’s taste , but who cares ? The ripe option for your garden is the choice that makes you glad .
