During the 2013 Super Bowl , Dodge Ram ranan adthat juxtapose farm image with the words of Paul Harvey ’s now famous language : “ So God Made a Farmer . ” While the spectacular advertizing quick stirred up viral disputation about the underlying content and intent , Guyler - Alaniz understandably saw a missing piece : There were few women farmers in the advertizing , despite the fact that 30 percent of farm operators are female , harmonize to the last Census of Agriculture .
“ When I first image the commercial , I thought the ad was attractively done and it really affect a chord within me as an American with the powerful imaging and visuals , ” Guyler - Alaniz say . “ But then it began to hit — my ‘ ah ha ’ moment , if you will — that not only did this ad not beguile these images of today ’s women farmers , but rarely in any mainstream spiritualist do we see such authoritative images of females raising food . ”
Rather than just vent and plain , Guyler - Alaniz took action .

Too often in our world , the lulu of a woman is judged by her face . These are beautiful cleaning lady , doing beautiful work and my end is to bring an appreciation to what they do . ”
Guyler - Alaniz ’s inspiring story prompt us that we can all take personal legal action when there ’s something we see about our food and agriculture system that we take issue with and want to see change .
“ For me , leaders does not need to be anything big , ” she says . “ You just need to take one activeness to get things started ; if it is important to you it will be important to someone else . It still vex me at how many people are touched and impress by my pic through FarmHer . To be able to do something salutary for other people while doing something I savor , that ’s what it ’s all about . ”
Thanks to Guyler - Alaniz for share her family ’s Butterhorn Roll formula , a marvelously sweet dinner party roll that ’s a favorite at holidays like Thanksgiving , Christmas and Easter . “My family has a melt down if these are n’t on the table , ” Guyler - Alaniz laughs . “ Mix up the dough the daytime before for best result . Ingredients
