Contained creations by a talented designer
Today we ’re visiting with Katie Verdieck in Chester County , Pennsylvania . Katie is a landscape painting intriguer , and she specializes in creating beautifulcontainers . They ’re great inspiration for every gardener because no matter how big orsmall your gardenspace is , you have elbow room for another container !
This lovely container is focused almost exclusively on shades ofpurplefrom both flowers and foliage . Katie urge planting containers very densely to give a nice full effect correctly from day 1 .
easy yellow zinnias ( Zinnia×marylandica , one-year ) contrast beautifully with purple leafage and bloom . The improver of lavender ( Lavandula×intermedia , Zones 5–8 ) makes this container smack wonderful , particularly if you brush past it .

There is something about scandalmongering and white together . Here , yellow begonia ( Begoniahybrid , Zones 10–11 or as an yearly ) pairs perfectly with the whitened leaves of a caladium ( Caladiumhybrid , Zones 8–11 or as a bid bulb ) .
This white-hot begonia flower is gorgeous , and it shows off even strong for being paired with dark - leaved coleus ( Plectranthusscutellarioides , Zones 10–11 or as an annual ) and heuchera ( Heucherahybrid , Zones 5–9 ) . A caladium with black red – blot whitened leaf further emphasizes thecolor compounding .
It ’s hard to flummox a openhanded monotone full of showy pansies ( Viola×wittrockiana , cool time of year annual ) in full blooming . Pansiescan take freezing weather and so are great choices forwinter plantingsin mild climates and early spring planting .

Snowdrops(Galanthusspecies , Zones 3–7 ) are always a welcome sign of fountain , but look how awing they look against the dark leaf of black mondo grass ( Ophiopogonplaniscapus‘Nigrescens ’ , Zones 5–9 ) .
In winter , you could change out the annuals for potted bush , evergreen plant perennial , and cut branches to make a beautiful display . If the slash branches brown and fade , just draw out them out and supersede them with fresh I .
