February Delights – Snowdrops and Hellebores.
My wood anemone are still bewitch me . LovelyGalanthusLady Elphinstone is elegantly appareled in yellow half-slip . She is a double strain of nivalis , but made special by the yellowed markings .
Another endearing snowdrop : Galanthus nivalis‘Brenda Troyle ’ .
She has prominent , nicely shaped heyday which have a adorable honey scent .

Helleborus hybridus ‘Bradfield Yellow’
GalanthusMagnet drop its head on a retentive stringy pedicel . I dug this up for a friend last year and forgot to give it to her .
Galanthus plicatusAugustus is not quite out , I took this pic last year . It is a plicatus with unforesightful broad leaves and nice , round , flowers . It is quite distinctive .
It is possibly a scrap zany to uprise lots of different snowdrops that do n’t appear any unlike from each other unless you take the recording label . I want to supply Diggory to my collection next year though ; he is very typical and immediately recognizable . Anna atGreen Tapestryshowed us a beautiful picture of her Diggory recently . I am trusted everyone who saw it has put him on their wish lean .

Helleborus hybridus ‘Bradfield Yellow’
In February , when I am not counting gullible spots on my wood anemone I am to be find peering up my Hellebores ’ skirts . The worry withHelleborus orientalisis that the head so often confront downwards . The primula yellowHelleborus hybridus‘Bradfield Buttercup Yellow ’ holds its head up well as do theEricsmithiaehybrids but the rest of my Hellebores have to be try out one by one . Each one is a little unlike so it takes a while .
genus Helleborus hybridus ‘ Bradfield Yellow ’
The Pianist thinks I am a Hellebore bore and so does Pip .

Have you ever seen a dog look more world-weary than this ? false hellebore have this event on him ..

I screw your joy in your mixture of snowdrop ! Our hellebores are getting afoot but we ’re having a freezing for the next few day so they ’re all lying savorless on the earth at the moment , such a sad hatful . Your hellebore are look gorgeous . I do it that they ’re always blooming for Valentine ’s day . One may be forgive for peering up skirts on that day a little more than might normally be the case .
I adore false hellebore . They look way too exotic to be flowering in England in February . Where are you off to , you favorable thing ?
Your snowdrop and hellebore collections are impressive . I never have it away there were so many variety of snowdrop ! Neither genus does specially well for me here in southern California , although I grew a diminished number of both in my former garden . I ’d care to render snowdrops again and some of the hellebore hybrids but everything that needs an sizeable supply of water may be off my want list until our current drought is resolved .

Your snowdrop are pretty , especially the chickenhearted one . But I just adore hellebores , although I do n’t have many . Mine have n’t started bloom yet . Yours are gorgeous ! Too big they turn out Pip – he looks like he ’s just the right acme to peer into their blooms ! 😉
Oh thanks for the cite Chloris 🙂 I would gladly give you a ‘ Diggory ’ if I had surplus incandescent lamp but have not get to that phase yet . I do have the odd spare ‘ light-haired Inge ’ so do let me know if you would like one . What a hunky-dory raiment of hellebores – another dearie of mine . Have not interpret ‘ Bradfield Buttercup Yellow ’ which looks like a fine plant . Is it more creamy in colour than yellow?I feel for Pip – my hubby has a like look on his face when I make him inspect my snowdrops .
