My name is Glendon Elliott . My garden is in Jamestown , Rhode Island , on Conanicut Island , where surrounded by water , we are always a morsel warm ( or cooler in the spring ) than our Zone 6 localisation .

I was trimming some unexampled outgrowth onCotinus‘Royal Purple ’ ( Zones 5–8 ) and notice the shockingly acute blue of theseirises . I thin the only two open ( three might have been near ) and put them in a vase with theCotinusto what I think is a prissy effect .

Look behind this oculus - catch iris ( Irissiberica , Zones 3–8 ) and poppy ( Papaverorientale , Zones 3–9 ) and you ’ll see the airy fronds of asparagus . Glendon care using it at theback of the borderfor pinnacle and complex body part and says that this peculiar one sowed itself into this placement .

Brilliant orangeGeum(Zones 4–7 ) flowers against a backcloth of purple sword lily

over-embellished coneflower ( Echinaceapurpurea , Zones 3–8 ) and butterfly stroke grass ( Asclepiastuberosa , Zones 5–9 ) look not bad together and welcome countlesspollinatorsto feed .

‘ Ballerina ’ rose ( Rosa‘Ballerina ’ , Zones 5–9 ) andGeranium‘Rozanne’(Zones 5–8 ) make illusion together .

Weigela ( Weigelaflorida , Zones 5–9 ) , smokebush ( Cotinuscoggygria , zone 5–8 ) , barbate iris ( Irishybrid , Zones 3–8 ) , and gateway Joe Pye weed ( Eupatoriummaculatum‘Gateway ’ , Zones 4–8 ) make a beautiful garden scene .
