In a Vase on Monday. 11. 08. 14

time of year ofMistWind and Mellow Fruitfulness .

I would prefer   to have called my vase    ‘ Summer Breeze ’ like Cathy ’s atWordsandherbs . alas , it has been bollix a hoolie this week and this vase looks very autumnal . I am certain   we will have plenty of summer to amount once Bertha has end with us . I hope so anyway .

I    have used the lovely orange   hips ofRosa glauca . I mean I like this rose at this time of the year better than in   early summer . It has pretty single pink bloom but I think the hips look great   with the glaucous blue leaf . The Berry are from my ignominious elderflower : Sambucus nigra . The leaves lose   much of their blackness in recent summertime but I love the pinkish flowers in early summer and then the Charles Edward Berry .   The chickenhearted blossom are from the bronze finocchio : Foeniculum vulgare‘Purpureum ’ .

After all I have say about not liking Daylilies I have to admit that I have a swell pool of this orangish one under some trees which lights up the area . I did n’t plant them but I am glad they are there . The name is : Hemerocallis fulva‘Flore pleno .

If you develop seeds of crocosmias you get some interesting offspring if you have several varieties in the garden .   This is aCrocosmia‘Emily Mckenzie ’ seedling which has almost finished flowering but the orange heyday have ruby-red grading at the centre which reflect the markings on theHemerocallis .

The braggy red and white dahlia is one of the nestling I maturate from a endearing dark red ‘ Bishop of Llandaff . ’ Some of his offspring were a beautiful dark Bolshevik ,   but this one is a bit strange , I do n’t know what the other parent was , I have n’t any white ones in the garden .   I really do n’t know what the Bish has been up to ; he should be ashamed of himself .

The pale peach Hollyhock is not really a   hollyhock at all , it is my very specialxAlcalthaea suffrutescens‘Parkallee ’ . I will severalise you all about it another day .   Right now I have to go out with my byword . Bertha has blown my favored apple tree over .   It is at a very strange slant and choke up the path .

Thank you to Cathy atramblinginthegardenfor host this merriment meme .

This is the second time within a workweek that I ’ve seen that Crocosmia , just as I ’ve been pondering the addition of Crocosmia to one of my backyard bed – kismet possibly . I like the daylily too – it ’s the 1st double daylily I ’ve liked . I desire the Malus pumila Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree exist and that Bertha leaves you alone for here on out . I never think of hurricanes come to the UK – does it come about often ?

Chloris your vase is so full and brimming with color . I love the use of rose hips with the day lily . A wonderful jazz band . I trust your garden is not too upended by the hurricane .

I do trust you apple tree make it Chloris , it would be a disgrace too lose it . Your vase expect great , just made to be displayed against the brick rampart . It takes a expert centre to make such an eyecatching display . We missed the unfit of Bertha ’s atmospheric condition up here but we have not been without the fart and rain . It ’s turn very cold up here .

Great moving picture for your “ In a Vase ” mail service ! Bright orange colors are perfect for a late summertime boquet . I hope your tree will be OK !

How beautiful ! The lilies certainly give the presentation a gorgeous pop of colour .
