Today , I am going to partake 3 slightly dissimilar ways to paint violets .
These are paint on myCanson Mixed Media Artist Padthat I have bend into my art journal . I have used this next one before , Canson Mixed Media Pad , it just has light - free weight report , but is thick enough for an art daybook and it has twice as many Page in it as the first one I listed . Just so you know the deviation .
Start with your two coloring for the violets . In this case , I used Plaid Folk Art Multi Surface in Lavender and Light Lavender .
If you do n’t have these exact people of color mix or use what you have !
Easy Color Mixing
Mixing colors is a great way to get a broad cooking stove of paint colors from a limited selection . This is called a circumscribed palette . That is where it is great to know how colour mixing can form for you to produce a wide range of color .

Paint Petals
The first 4 petals are a goop teardrop stroke . If you require to see how that is done watch the video , it is hard to describe in run-in and picture .
For this flower I had the lightsome turning point of the skirmish in the center , I entreat slightly as I make a tight C stroke keeping the light color in the essence and create the outer edge of the petal with the glowering colour .
The nitty-gritty bottom petal is a small scallop stroke , same # 8 thicket , again keep the light people of colour in the snapper .
Second Method of How to Paint Violets
For the next flower I do with the same # 8 flat brush but I exclusive load it with the lavender , and I make small-scale luger leafage teardrop shot for each petal .
The bottom flower petal is 3 teardrop stroke aligned next to each other and blended to make one petal .
Third Method of How to Paint Violets
With the darker flower to the far flop , I paint with a # 8 filbert brush to show how you’re able to use dissimilar brushes .
The difference is subtle but it does give a more rounded effect to the sharpness of the petals .
Details
For the item , I used a 10/0 Loew Cornell liner brush and the Perfect Purple color to create the whiskers that fan out from the centre of attention .
I used the tip of the liner and Sunflower to create the slight dot in the center .
you could still see the graphite lines under the faint lavender flower , unremarkably I do n’t make my lines so moody but I did on this demo so you could see them .
If this were something other than a demonstration and I accidentally go my line too dark I would have to go over that flower again with the lavender until you could not see the lines .
The lines outdoors of the blusher can be easily erased with thiseraser(not any eraser works as well at removing graphite )
Next , add a low upside - down quintuplet over the helianthus dot with your lining brush . Paint on the theme and leaf .
I get it on my second two blossom were rather messy but I was in a hurry to shoot them and slap on the paint .
When you take your clip they will be much sizable , though I care messy so I am unspoilt with them as is .
