What a Face!
Babydoll Southdown sheep have been the utter addition to our hobby farm in Minnesota . When I set about look for sheep to add to our farm , I want to find a strain that would do well with kids and the Minnesota weather condition . I found the perfect fit for us with Babydoll Southdowns .
They ’re peaceable , rum , smart and dauntless . On our farm , I keep them together with our Nigerian Dwarf goats and miniature domestic ass , and they all get along beautifully . Along with being fuel - efficient lawnmowers , we use their fleece for various project and craft . Their muzzy teddy bear typeface will always give you a smile !

Smarter Than You Think
Babydoll Southdown sheep are the emasculated , well-disposed , easy to care for breed of sheep in the United States . Sheep are wise than most people think they are and deeply emotional animate being that pick out and remember faces . They hide their feelings because they are defenceless but will break themselves to be surprisingly deep to a caring shepherd .

Easy-Keepers
Babydolls are easy - keeper . Most of the class , they can ride out in good term on pasture or hay . They make excellent rude lawnmowers , and their unretentive legs make it much easier to provide adequate fence .

We especially love our Babydoll Southdown sheep because they have the most entertaining , individual personalities ! The implike one , the cuddler and the one that would do anything for a treat — their personality are as unparalleled as the family dog or cat .

Small but Mighty
Ilove my purebred Babydoll Southdown sheep because it ’s a smaller strain that makes it sluttish for me to treat , sign and provide several ley for rotating . They ’re normally very teachable and make bully lawnmowers . These sheep are a nice all - around breed for beginner , but as with any animal , I strongly suggest a mentor if you are considering breeding .
They farm a dense wool that requires yearly shearing , and the fleece can be used for a variety of things once you get a line how to process it for your projects . The cunning “ smile ” are n’t so bad either !

Orchard Sheep
Wewere looking for small sheep suitable for grazing in our orchard . As it turn out , Babydolls are the perfect orchard sheep — as long as you protect the trunk of your young Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree !
They are curt and crouch with a low center of gravity , so they do n’t care to put up on their hind legs much . So any branches above about 40 inch are quite safe from their browsing .
But even beyond being great in plantation and vineyards , we love them for so many other reason ! They are in all likelihood the most endearing sheep out there ( especially the lambs ) , and they are such easy - keepers without a lot of the event of larger and raw sheep breeds — the complete beginner sheep breed !

They Do It All!
Babydolls do it all for a hobby Fannie Merritt Farmer . Their Milk River is copious ; it ’s over half cream . It has the mild flavor , and though only about two cup per milking is produced , it ’s higher-ranking to others I ’ve tasted . Their woolen , though short stapled , is so soft and fine .
The meat of a Babydoll wether is unvanquishable in the sheep breeds and better than even other source of meat . The meat is literally unvanquishable when you talk savor , tenderheartedness and leanness .
