Some fragrant rose favorites
We ’re back in Lil Holloway ’s garden in Bedford , Massachusetts , and today the focal point is on roses .
I lie with horticulture , but I ’m now 80 years older and know the sentence is coming when I will have to slow down . In the meantime , it ’s great exercise and my passion . I particularly love my rose wine !
This is ‘ The Impressionist ’ , a very fragrant move up cover by an American breeder but similar to the style of David Austin ’s English roses .

This pinkish beaut is ‘ Zephirine Drouhin ’ , a thornless climber . It is prostrate toblackspotat death of the season , but 2020 was her skilful season yet .
A horizon of ‘ Clair Matin ’ and ‘ Zephirine Drouhin ’ blooming together at the edge of the perennial garden .
These are my plants of ‘ Clair Matin ’ . There are three Dubyuh , and they have been in that spot for 24 year . Disease resistant , they only wish a lightpruningin the spring . I pruned one mode back a few year ago . She was not well-chosen , and it took three year for her to get back to her height .

I do n’t know the name of this deep pinkish rise . I purchase her in Nashua , New Hampshire , from a rose breeder some 20 years ago .
These roses are by the pack of cards . I use Knockout roses in the back to hide the bottom of the deck . In the front are mostly David Austin rose . ‘ Passionate candy kiss ’ and ‘ ataraxis ’ are mixed in .
This illumination pinko rose is David Austin ’s ‘ Olivia ’ . Disease repellent and with beautiful leaf , she has become one of my favourite .
