More end-of-season flowers from a Maxine’s garden in New York

We ’re back in Maxine ’s garden to see the last of her blooming from this year ’s produce time of year . If you missed it , be sure to check outPart 1 .

It may sound unexpended or appear peculiar to a non - nurseryman that it truly saddens me to say goodbye to my garden for the wintertime . Before I invite farewell for its prospicient wintertime sleep , I thanked my garden for the peace of mind , happiness and quiet that it gave me during a very abrasive summer . Over the past few weeks , I have watch over the plant slow down their emergence as they react to the shorter 24-hour interval and cooler nights . Now it is time for me to cautiously execute the required duties that will see a healthy originate time of year in the spring . At the same time , I desire that as the plants go dormant , they will converse and shift their energy from above the ground to their roots . Farewell my vivacious friends , until you bud again .

Yesterday , we check this decorative bridge from another angle with monkshood ( Aconitumnapellus , Zones 3–7 ) near by . Today , we get to see it in its integrality with a classicAutumn Joy sedum(Hylotelephium‘Herbstfreude ’ , Zones 3–11 ) and the beautiful , abstruse foliage of ajuga nigh by .

Again , like yesterday , Maxine treats us to a end up of her stunning Autumn Joy sedum .

Another fabulous fall scene in Maxine ’s garden . plant that have halt flower are still extend lush and colorful foliage , while bootleg - eyed Susan ( Rudbeckiahirta , Zones 3–8 ) andNew England aster(Symphyotrichum novae - angliae , Zones 4–8 ) bring the colorful rosiness .

Along with the black - eyed Susans , Maxine has anotherrudbeckiain her garden . This shiny coneflower ( Rudbeckianitida , Zones 5–9 ) is providing for pollinators at the remnant of the time of year as well as providing interest with its flurry of seed psyche .

Another scenery with a stunning mix of foliage and late - time of year blooms . PinkJapanese anemone(Anemone hupehensisvar.japonica , Zones 5–7 ) peak take center degree .

Blooms are around every corner in Maxine ’s end - of - season garden . This bright white bloom of nippon daisies ( Nipponanthemum nipponicum , Zones 5–9 ) are plainly sensational , but it ’s the almost succulent - like foliage that sell it for me .

As we ’ve seen , and seen before , Maxine ’s garden is a veridical haven for her local pollinator . Even as the time of year winds down , this bee has a buffet of prime on a short ’s goldenrod ( Solidagoshortii , Zones 6–9 ) to enjoy .
