Six on Saturday. Autumn Bounty.
I have had a rather retentive blogging vacation as other writing commitments have rather take over the last few week and sometimes sprightliness perplex in the room . But I ’m still here and so is the garden . In fact , late summer and other fall provide Wave of flowered delectation with an abundance of dahlias , Michaelmas daisy and colchicums ; I am sorry I permit them go by live . And now the chrysanthemums have go too and will carry the garden into November .
Today , I have been looking around for especial treats and I was kibosh in my tracks by the flower of one of my tree dahlia blooming direction above my school principal . These are hybrids ofDahlia imperialisbred by Keith Hammett in New Zealand . So far all my seedling have turned out to be pink . They grow to an tremendous stature and then protrude flower late in the season . But even the ones without bloom leave an impressive presence in my alien garden .
tree and shrubs are colouring up and fruit and berries are everywhere . I have quite a few spindle grown from seed and they are all looking adorable at the moment . This one is a seedling ofEuonymus hamiltonianus‘Miss Pinkie ’ . Some of the spindles get lustrous scarlet leaves in autumn , but on this one they turn yellow as the days get colder .

Hesperantha coccineais always a useful plant for early fall . As long as the plants do n’t get too ironical , it spreads attractively into squeamish big clod . The only drawback is that the flower capitulum run to arse around about a bit . I have it in crimson , pink and white ; my front-runner are the white and pink .
My big treat in October is the blooming of my nerine collection in the greenhouse . It has got rather out of helping hand . I could ramble on about my nerines for a long time , but on this juncture I will confine myself to just one . This next flick is one of my latest ; it is calledNerine‘Lipstick ’ . I think I shall have to come back to the nerines another day .
I suppose an fall premium web log should admit yield . I have apple , pear and Cydonia oblonga but in the glasshouse I have grapes . These are a bit of a dashing hopes because in a previous greenhouse I had a wonderful golden Muscat grape and I call up that this was going to be the same . It was incorrectly mark and these black grape vine are very sweet , but not what I was expecting . Still , it does bear load of fruit .

Like all vegetable gardeners I have had lots of courgette and also patty pan squash which look just like vaporize saucers . But my girl establish me some plants of these ‘ Uchiki Kuri ’ squelch and I am search forward to taste them . My chef is a bit baffled as to what he is suppose to do with them , but I think they keep quite well while he works something out .
So there we have just a small gustatory modality of what is find here in the blooming garden right now . I shall be back soon , but first I have a hatful of entrance up with other web log to do . Meanwhile do suss out out thePropagatorand all his enthusiastic following . He seems to be doing a lot of prevail at the moment ; 100 miles is an awful lot of running . I doubt if I could run 100 yards , so I am astonished by people who do this sorting of affair . But do n’t worry , you do n’t have to run to enjoySix on Saturday .

It ’s lovely to see your beautiful garden again . I ’ve been tempted by Dahlia imperialis for years . My favorite mail order nursery provide it but monish that it does n’t appreciate strong winds . That , combined with its piddle essential , has efficaciously rule it out for me . Sadly , water is also an issue with the Hesperantha / Schizostylis . Actually , pee requirements have become the # 1 outcome with respect to all my garden choices now .
Beautiful , just beautiful . So many lovely blooms for this time of year . I particularly enjoy the photos of the Hesperanthas . Just gorgeous !
