I have this genial picture of a mountain that is high than Everest . It rises steeply out of a jungle that surrounds it . Most of us , people and company , are fall behind and drift around in that jungle , and do n’t hump the mountain exists at all .
Rather , we are preoccupy with the threatening , competitive “ animals ” all around us . A few have sensed the upward side of the raft ’s foothills under their feet . Still fewer have decided to espouse the upward slope to see where it leads . And a very few are far enough along to have had a glimpse of the mountain through the leaves of the trees , to realize what looms beforehand and above .
Very few indeed have set their eyes and wills on the summit.
What will the view from there , from the vantage point in time of sustainability , be like ? I believe it will be wondrous beyond description , and I trust to see it before I conk . I also hope others , still turn a loss in the jungle or just becoming witting of the upward slope , even set about to explore it , will listen our call of joyfulness through the foliage and rush ahead to take after our track , someday before long to connect us at the top ( or substantially yet outwit us there).There ’s way there for everyone , and certainly anyone headed in that instruction welcomes the companionship , as we attempt to create the prototypical company of the twenty - first C , of the next industrial rotation .

John A. Lanierjoined the Ray C. Anderson Foundation as executive director in May 2013 to set ahead the bequest of Ray , his grandfather .
