After I water the semen , I put them under my lights and on top of a heating mat which is great for warming the soil for the seeds to evolve . I ’m start the tomatoes afterward this year because last yr I started the first calendar week of March and they got too big - about 3 - 4 feet tall because I could n’t put them out with the cold outflow we had . This class I ’m hoping to get them transplant into the garden around mid April ( with security ) weather permitting . Why do I mean I might be able to get them in early this year ? We are in a La Nina which generally imply warm weather in natural spring but less rainwater . By planting them later if I have to , they should n’t be as with child as last year .
