The team at RHS Wisley is striving to expand & improve their plant collections , with an emphasis on garden - worthy plants and highlighting the salmagundi that can exist within a individual genus , championing all that cultivars have to extend . Hence RHS Wisley has had three raw tree National Collections accredited by our Plant Collections committee in March 2022 .

Albizia julibrissin – RHS Garden , WisleyAlthough this is a small mathematical group of plants this is a comprehensive aggregation for this little - known and under - utilized garden - desirable plant . The squad at RHS Wisley hope to animate visitors with these unusual but beautiful small Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree , and hope to encourage more people to acquire them at place .

Eucryphia – RHS Garden WisleyEucryphiagrow well in the woodland conditions on Battleston Hill where there are some keen specimens to be seen , most having been found following the 1987 storms . New varieties and color forms have been add so there are thriving untested plants too . The fact they blossom later in summertime make them incredibly utile for extending the unfolding time of year in the woodland garden , and RHS Wisley aims to highlight just how beautiful , wide-ranging & useful this perhaps underrated genus is .

genus Lagerstroemia – RHS Garden , WisleyA comprehensive collection of stalwart species / cultivars suitable for the UK clime , which are particularly worthy in the south east where the winters are milder and the summertime is usually warmer . The reach of sizes and shades of blooms are fantastic , and they are a wonderful late summer flowering summation to the garden , as they flourish in a longsighted hot summer , which encourage anthesis .
Through building relationships with other collection holders & grower throughout the UK , the squad at RHS Wisley hope to share material which will help safeguard the next prospects of rare & unusual cultivars . It will also render a platform to test some of the lesser - known specie for hardiness and evaluate their garden worth .
